Human Courage always comes in many ways and is brought forward in different fashions. Out Captain is a man of action, bravery, hope and as he is very found of telling people very human. And humans have a way of consoling themselves in moments that aren't the best or really going well for them. He is human after all.

You watch the scene from The Journey to Babel with Kirk and the Andorian squaring off in the corridor...why is there no one else around? Or why didn't anyone hear the racket and come to his aid? It's a little touch of reality tho..how many of us have had a moment of falling and being somewhere and not sure how you're going to get the hell out of there on your own. And let's face it we would be saying a few colorful phrases at those moments. I'm sure the Captain did as well they just managed to cut it out for the sensitive viewers out there.
